It is important to follow a plan everyday. It does not need to be an exercise guide; just some things to accomplish each day!
Smoothie Craze!
Smoothies are a great way to pack all essential vitamins and minerals into one tasty drink!Here are some delicious smoothie recipes that are great for pre and post workout meal! (all smoothie recipes are from Vitamix.com)
Fruit Salad Smoothie:
- 1/2 cup (80g) grapes, red or green
- 1 medium orange, peeled, halved
- 1/2-inch-think (1.3 cm) slice pineapple, core included
- 1/4 cucumber, peeled
- 1 medium carrot, halved
- 1/4 medium apple
- 2 cups (480 ml) ice cubes
Tropic Tango Smoothie:
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
- 1/2 lime, peeled
- 1 medium banana, peeled
- 1 cup (30 g) fresh spinach, washed
- 2 medium apples, quartered
- 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes
Banana Blueberry Orange Smoothie:
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) water
- 1 small banana, peeled, frozen
- 1 medium orange, peeled, halved
- 1/2 cup (80 g) frozen unsweetened blueberries
Follow a Nutrition Guide Everyday!
Swap the junk food (which is compromising your exercise) and eat something filled with vitamins and nutrients, i.e fruits, veggies. Even try to make sure you are getting enough of your daily value of vitamins and proteins.
I admit it is really hard to shake your cravings, so here is a list of food to satisfy them:
- If you like crunchy food... try cutting up some raw veggies, or have an apple with nut butter.
- If you like sweet food...have some yogurt with fruit, or a smoothie (no dairy)
- If you like salty food...have a hand full of roasted almonds, or popcorn (not the artificial stuff that goes in the microwaves. Buy the kernels and make it at home!)
Lifestyle Tips
Here are some tips that if followed almost everyday will result in a better life!
1. STAY HYDRATED- make sure you are drinking enough water EVERY DAY, not just when you are working out!
3. BREATHE- when your feeling stressed, take 10 deep breathes. Try to focus on every breath.
4. POSTURE- having a good posture improves your breathing!
5. LAUGH- it will help you de-stress.
6. FLOSS- to prevent disease.
7. NATURAL AND VEGGIE FILLED DIET- you will feel much better then chowing down on artificial junk!
8. VOLUNTEER- anywhere you can!
9. SLEEP- you should get 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night.
10. USE SUNSCREEN- even when you're not at the beach!
